Anouk Froidevaux grew up in Vancouver, Canada studying classical ballet and modern dance professionally. In 2002, she was the youngest of her class to join the Rotterdam Dance Academy, Codarts and in 2003, successfully completed the Dance Individual Study Bachelor. At age 19 and directly from school, she joined Rogie & Company. Between 2003-2009, Anouk worked throughout Holland and Europe, was a guest artist in the company Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel, a member of the Omi International Dance Collective in New York, a dancer for Siwic 06′ in Zurich and was featured in the interactive video installation, “Deranged” by visual artist Bogomir Doringer, which has been shown in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Dubrovnik, Toronto, and Vienna.
Since 2009, Anouk is a member of Constanza Macras/Dorky Park, based in Berlin and part of the major productions: “Megalopolis”, “Oedipus Rex”, “Berlin Elsewhere” and “Open For Everything”, which tour throughout Europe and internationally. She is one of the creators and performers in the project, “HUMAN REMAIN(S)”, curated by Dorky Park for the residency, On Fire and has sung in the music performance, “Serious Immobilities” by Ari Benjamin at the Esther Schipper Gallery in Berlin.
Since 2013, Anouk is a fully certified GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor teaching private and group classes at Corpus Studios in Brussels and gives workshops to dancers, as well as people of all fitness levels.
Anouk launched her first workshop, Dancing The Moment in 2014 and has taught at Studio 44, the home of Dorky Park, Ada Studio, as well as The Scotia Bank Dance Centre in Vancouver, Canada. Anouk loves traveling, surfing and learning languages, is proficient in German, Italian and French and has lived and worked in such cities as, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Rome, Berlin, Budapest and Brussels.
